Summary[]
Tao learns from Tatsuomi over the phone that Alma and Utsuro were spotted heading to Coastal Park. Meanwhile, driving from Maki's apartment where she found him dead, Tao suspects Utsuro's involvement. Tatsuomi reveals Utsuro has been missing since last year, with only blood in her apartment suggesting her death. Tao speculates Utsuro as the suspect due to the absence of a body. She also mentions Maki, supposedly dating Utsuro, was found dead in his apartment covered in blood.
In Coastal Park, Utsuro attacks Alma, stabbing him and severing his hand. Passersby witness their fight, distracting Alma momentarily. Utsuro tries to make a suicide pact with Alma but becomes hysterical when he reacts angrily. She notices Alma's necklace with a ring, reminiscent of one Yomi had given her.
In the past, Yomi revived Utsuro after multiple suicide attempts. They formed a bond, with Yomi comforting Utsuro over her troubled past relationships. When Utsuro sees Alma's ring, similar to Yomi's, she claims it and declares Alma belongs to her, unsettling him.
Alma, uncomfortable with Utsuro's possessiveness, fights back. He transforms and injures Utsuro, taking back the ring. Utsuro's severed head regenerates after she swallows a capsule, revealing her eerie transformation with black eyes. She confronts Alma about "Kanata," accusing him of betrayal. Their conflict escalates as Alma decapitates Utsuro's mouth, but her body remains standing. Utsuro, now transformed and determined, challenges Alma while questioning his motives and alliances.
Plot Details[]
Tao is on the phone with Tatsuomi, who is telling her where Alma is. Tao is driving alone from Maki's apartment, where she found Maki dead earlier after suspecting Utsuro. Tatsuomi says he got information from a homeless man that Alma and Utsuro were seen heading to Coastal Park. He scolds Alma through Tao for wandering around carelessly and mentions that Utsuro, also known as Utsu, has been missing since last year. The only trace of Utsuro was blood in her apartment, leading people to think it's haunted. Tao replies that if there's no body, Utsuro is likely the suspect. She also mentions that Maki, who was supposedly dating Utsuro, was found dead and covered in blood in his apartment.
At the same time, in Coastal Park, Utsuro stabbed Alma in the scapula, causing Alma to panic. Then, Utsuro cut off Alma's right hand, exposing the bone. Passersby witnessed the fight between Alma and Utsuro, causing Alma to shout for them to run, which distracted him. Utsuro took advantage of the distraction and nearly beheaded Alma with a blow to the neck. She quickly squats down and stabs Alma's right leg four times, then kicks him in the heart, sending him flying to the ground. Approaching Alma, who is severely injured, she suggests they make a suicide pact together. However, Alma's angry expression confuses and frustrates her. She continues to stab him repeatedly, asking why he's reacting this way. She assumes Alma would never treat her like this, all the while smiling maniacally. While stabbing him, she notices Alma's necklace, which has a ring on it.
In the past, Utsuro was found dead in her apartment complex after numerous suicide attempts, but Yomi revived her. Covered in her own blood from cuts on her wrists and legs, Utsuro was shocked to find herself alive when Yomi greeted her from her bed. Yomi reassured her not to worry, explaining that she was already dead. He asked Utsuro if life had been difficult and assured her that she would find happiness with them from now on. This comforted Utsuro, reminding her of failed relationships where her self-harm was misunderstood by her former partners as seeking attention. She felt relieved that someone would now care for her as she had always wanted. They exchanged names, with Utsuro introducing herself and asking Yomi's name in return, which Yomi provided.
As she noticed Alma's ring on his necklace, it reminded her of Yomi's ring—they were identical. This realization startled Alma. Utsuro forcefully grabbed the necklace with the ring, cutting it and snapping the chain to claim the ring in her hand. She declared that now Alma belonged to her, preventing him from cheating on her, speaking in her usual third-person manner. She insisted he no longer needed the ring, her eyes wide with hysteria.
Alma, who's no longer liking the whole situation, demanded she return the ring. Using his severed right hand, he pulled out the karmic stake from his heart, triggering his transformation into a half-Maga. Swiftly, he severed Utsuro's right hand as she lunged at him, and also her left hand, where she held the ring. Alma took the ring from Utsuro's left severed hand and slipped it onto his pinky finger. He mentioned how his wounds usually healed easily, but the bleeding this time unnerved him deeply. Now poised for battle, Alma asked if Utsuro was the Blood-Loss Death Maga. Utsuro responded with a manic smile, insisting he call her Utsuro because "Maga" didn't suit her.
Utsuro lunged at Alma, but he abruptly kicked her in the stomach, sending her flying and damaging a nearby bench. She accused him of being the worst for kicking a girl in the gut, insisting the Alma she knew would never be so cruel. She reminded him they had been on the same side since they met. With a manic smile on her face, she vowed to return him to his former kind self. Simultaneously, Alma struck her with a cleaver-like weapon made of his blood, decapitating half of Utsuro's mouth, slicing through the other half of her head. He told her to shut her mouth.
Utsuro's severed head flew off, but her body remained standing after Alma's attack. Alma commented that cutting someone who looks human but isn't didn't sit right with him, even though she was a villain, unlike Kanata. Standing before Alma, Utsuro reached into her right-side pocket and swallowed a small capsule. Suddenly, her earlier severed head reformed right in front of Alma, startling him. Utsuro mentioned that overdosing on those capsules could have adverse effects, but she seemed fine. Now, her eyes were completely black, sclera and pupils alike. She asked Alma who Kanata was, noting that it was a new name he had mentioned, and accused him of being a pretty bad guy himself for cheating on her.
