Dobanobado (ドバノバド) a one-shot manga of 36 pages, both written and illustrated by Yuto Sano, was featured in the April edition of Gessan magazine, specifically in the Gessan Mini section for Spring. This inclusion was part of the issue released on April 12, 2018.
Plot[]
The main character, Doba, known for his diverse athletic abilities, finds himself in a tough spot when he unexpectedly receives failing grades and faces the prospect of repeating a year due to various shortcomings. The teacher delivers this unfortunate news, outlining Doba's academic struggles and attendance problems. This news disheartens him, and he questions whether there's any way to avoid this situation. The teacher suggests a chance for redemption through an unfamiliar task. Despite his uncertainty about the nature of the task, Doba cautiously agrees.
Later, after school, Doba's reluctance intensifies as he realizes he's required to join the badminton club as a condition to advance to the next grade. He expresses his displeasure for badminton, yearning for more engaging sports like soccer or basketball. Curious classmates inquire about the situation, and the teacher hints that perhaps the student's lack of ability lies at the core of their predicament. Feeling challenged, Doba becomes resolute in not giving up. The teacher then introduces their star player, Mizuto, tasked with coaching Doba in the ways of "Dominton."[1][2]
