History[]
Jump SQ, known as Jump Square, was introduced as a replacement for Shueisha's discontinued Monthly Shōnen Jump manga collection. The title holds three intended meanings: it represents a gathering space for comic enthusiasts, artists, and writers; it signifies an extension of Weekly Shōnen Jump; and it symbolizes "SQ = Supreme Quality," reflecting its commitment to being a top-notch manga magazine. During the period before Jump Square's launch, four manga series, namely Tegami Bachi, Rosario + Vampire, Claymore, and Gag Manga Biyori, were temporarily shifted to Weekly Shōnen Jump. These four series, alongside new ones like Embalming -The Another Tale of Frankenstein-, Kure-nai, and Dragonaut: The Resonance, comprised the initial lineup of Jump Square.
