Yuto Sano (
Personal Biography
Yuto Sano's father was an avid reader of Weekly Shonen Jump (published by Shueisha), so Yuto had been reading boys' magazines since they were little. They liked thinking up characters and drawing pictures, and from junior high school, Yuto wanted to become a manga artist. They participated in an open campus event and decided to pursue it further.
"After graduating, I won an award in Shogakukan's Newcomer Award and debuted as a manga artist! Now, I have moved to Tokyo, where I continue to draw new manuscripts while working as an assistant to another artist. My work is currently being serialized in a comic magazine, and I have published my own book.[3] | ||
—Yuto Sano, March 2017 |
After graduating last March of 2017, Yuto won an award in Shogakukan's "Gessan Newcomer Award 2016 Winter" and made their debut as a manga artist. For a while, Yuto worked in Tokushima, but now they have moved to Tokyo. While working as an assistant to a manga artist, Yuto continues to draw new manuscripts. As an assistant, they help with drawing backgrounds and digital finishing tasks like inking and toning, finding it very educational to observe various finishing processes.
At the vocational school, Yuto had the opportunity to show their work to editors twice a year and learned to use computers (digital tools), which was beneficial. Their goal is to create serialized works and have them published in book form within the next year or two.[4]
